July 10, 2006: "a newly fresh (!!) beginning"
back from a short break with a brandspankingnew website. every year, i like to delete my entire website and start new and fresh. you could say... freshly new. right, so at any rate, this year, the gods have decided grabaduck's fate instead by trapping me in a situation where i had no choice but to erase everything.
yeah, the gods.
makes me feel special destiny set aside a few seconds to mess with my webdesign potential. thanks.
okay, a few more words about the website - sorry for the pop-ups. i've never been a fan of them because they're stupid, but i've been scribbling away in photoshop forever now and discarded nearly every project. the image featured on the main page of grabaduck makes no sense but somehow survived the grueling criticism of yours truly and deemed okay for public eyes (which're not blind yet, i hope). it seemed the only way for me to utilize this in a a-litte-less-than-half-decent-but-not-completely-terrible layout was to use pop-ups. a week and a day ago, i was in sunny seattle and canada, carrying out the regular duties of a tourist by studying a brochure, getting lost, and of course, taking one too many photos. which have been combined into a very cluttered layout.
that was more like... a lot of more words.
but i saw two starfish in vancouver! albeit they were dead, but ...

Haha GreyMatter eh? LOL Well atleast you got everything revamped? I don't know? Lol Did you have fun on your Vacation to good old Canada? Well, I guess as long as you took loads of pictures (which I do ;)) and enjoyed yourself, that's all that seems to matter right ;)

Your webpage looks really good! The image on ur main page is amazingly pretty. Also, I think the smilies :D are cute.
Yay for star fish! I've never seen one in real life before. Even if it was dead that's still pretty cool!

Well, everything looks very cute. My site has popups too, and I despise popups. Haha. ;D I like this little layout you used for your blogs, though.
Aw, the smilies are pretty cute. It's okay. And starfish in Vancouver? How fun. :) A shame they were dead when you saw them, but I've never seen a starfish up close, dead or alive.

Ah, back in the day when I had a free website. Geocities was the bomb. It had everything, even pop-ups. Yeah! No, but, the site still looks great. I love the layout.

I like the look and i especially like the scroll over deal its cute... the image is unique thats what makes us who we are.. I'd much rather see that image then some scribbled up butterfly star twinkle mess lol.

I never start fresh, actually I'm currently working on putting my blog entries I did manual for ages into my wordpress archive.
The only time I start fresh is when I'm forced due to technical trouble with the host or something.
Just a reminder; some people have pop ups disabled and won't be able to view your site. Which means with the current layout it's not very accesible (as well as it not being FireFox compatible but you already knew that.
I suppose moving your image up to the top (still centered) makes it a bit better, I like the image though!

I do the "start over" thing too, and usually it's not really by choice. Things just happen every year or so that forces me to move or start over completely.
The main layout is nice, and at least your pop-up isn't tiny and badly CSS-ed. I like the background. It's cute on lined paper.
Bu yes, the smilies are hideous. I mean, they're not... awful, but they're just so tacky! I almost feel sorry for them. Poor ugly creatures.
