September 06, 2006: "it's not really about greeks"
i reformatted a computer last night. i say "a computer" because it's actually a derelict computer in my room that i no longer care and love for, and i now use it to perform aberrant science experiments on. kind of. more like, i don't turn it on anymore, which is identical to any other science experiment you would read about (cloning animals? yeah, that's the same thing). as for the computer i'm writing on now, i would never think to reformat this baby, the gorgeous PC that replaced the hole in my heart, the one i now love and care for.
for the sake of clarity, the just-reformatted computer's name is zeus, which is an awful name if i ever heard one. that SE98 crap is by no means a greek god. with lightning bolts.
oh wait, i just remembered zeus was the name of a pet turtle ialmost ran over and then stole from the roadsaved. well, obviously, my confusion between computer and turtle is completely understandable.
so, i was going to explain the ordeals and perils of reformatting, but i'd rather reflect on my turtle instead. what wonderful memories. i don't know if you've ever done pet-turtle-reflecting, but one needs to be alone. thanks.
(oh, and computer-i-mistaked-for-zeus' name is argus. i know you were dying to know. close enough)

I name all my computers, too. I have three right now - Marguerite, Bill, and Linus. Zeus is a good name for a computer... although it isn't very fitting for an old one. Oh well, I'm sure it was at the top back in the day.

zeus is an adorable name for a turtle! the only thing I have to compare to that is a fat lab mouse named coco chanel :). she has 2 sisters, lolita and pharinet, but I think that coco chanel has the best name for a mouse :D

ive never actually reformatted a computer before but you did just remind me i should back my files up. i thought i lost all my stuff one time and cried all morning. i know, im a loser. i got to miss first class though. haha
i would love to own a pet turtle. those things are so mellowed out all the time, like theyre stoned. good times
my friend owned a pet frog once, she showed it to me when it was in its tank thing. she said if you lift the top up and then dip your finger in the water EVER SO SLIGHTLY... and just sit there... the damn thing will pop up at you at any second... so she dipped it in.... we waited.. and waited, silence.. fuckin thing JUMPS right up to her finger in a split second and she SCREAMS, rotf. funniest thing ever but omg it was scary. says she does it all the time

never heard of computer named after greek god, nor named at all. my computer is just called dell, it says nothing else on it :P I wouldn't reformat my computer either, I would be too afraid it was going to bail on me! :
