August 14, 2007: "hanging fire"
i've obviously (transiently) abandoned grabaduck to offer my philanthropic services elsewhere: scientific research.

clearly. after all, isn't it for that very reason we all undergo a minibreak from bloggage?

and, for your information, should i ever offer, do not allow me to assist in scientific research. you know those experiments we did in seventh grade that involved the daunting task of circumspectly dropping water globules onto a penny? those are, by far, the most difficult experiments you could ever ask of a thirty-year-old intellectual, let alone a thirteen-year-old, intellectually impaired girl! unless i'm the cadaver you're poking at in the hopes of advancing mankind, i cannot help, because i assure you that the only good i can contribute to the scientific climate must be when i'm dead.

in truth - yeah, i lied. i wasn't doing science - i finally digested the fact that august is here and resolved to stop fooling around ...that hasn't been accomplished yet, BUT i did clean my room, and now i can see the floor!! it's wonderful, really. and in the spirit of august and more procrastination to come, i actually have several festivities to attend these upcoming weeks - most of which are formal parties i don't really know how i got myself into. being not quite the best of friends with the hosts of these parties, i'm not really sure what to bring - i usually only give money when i totally forget about the party (which happens often), but i'd like to avoid that for these events. any gift suggestions? do you think money is the better option, rather than a failed attempt at sentiment?

on the bright side, i'm thinking of making the card. i'm a sucker for homemade cards.

SCISSORS AND CARDSTOCK!

A formal party, huh? We don't have those around here but for weddings and graduations. And then, people usually bring cards and money. And for the gift-giving? Well I think within the last few years, giving gift cards and money has become socially acceptable, if not preferred.

Ahh! I do remember you! I am surprised you even remembered me? o= Wow lol. Haha well anyways yeah my host at Vilegenocide just took off on me and I didn't even know myself. Basically I was abandoned x.x I had a tough time trying to find someone to host me as well, so I kind of gave up and then I got someone to finally host me lol so I am back! After one long year damn huh. YAY you remember me though! *hugs ever so tightly*

Science experiementing huh? Haha I love how you always start off your blogs so strangely and then go off into reality =P haha. Aww no you can't go wrong with scissors and cardstock oh no LOL They're nice though it shows you take time to make it and not just go off and buy one. But indeed summer is almost over. Atleast you should make the best of it and hit up those parties! I should stop talking now. xox Take care!

Haha, well I am glad you can see your floor again, and also cause you have that sense of achievement, that's always cool :)
And nooo, don't ask me for gift suggestions - I'm terrible at that :P

Gifts can be quite complicated.. Wine, is usually my answer to that. A bottle of wine in a cute little bag, with a nice small card. Nothing too elaborate- deep greens and reds usually work well for bag colours, in any event.

:) Glad to see you're not MIA anymore. I wondered where you'd dissappeared to, anyway.

PS: "suz", the girl that left the first- three? comments.. She switches hosts more often than I change my underwear. Waste of time. ;) Not going to lie to you, hah.

I don't remember anything from science from when I was a girl. I used to hate it! I'm not scientifically inclined whatsoever.

Isn't it a wonderful when you've cleaned up your room after it been a tip? I love it :D Makes me want to mess it up again.

Gifts can be tricky. Unless it's a close friend I usually get a bottle of wine from the cupboard and scour the house for unwanted Christmas presents. How very frugal. I've yet to give someone a present they've given me! Rock on.

Haha, I noticed you hadn't blogged in a while and was about to ask how you could call my choosing to stay away from the internet madness when you're just as guilty as I am. ;P

Meh, science is the epitome of evil. Lol. I've never been bad at it, but I've always had the most horrible science teachers. The ones you hate for all eternity and wish for pitchforks to rain over their heads. XD

Congrats on cleaning your room!! :D I remember that feeling, hahaha.

As for the gifts, your homemade cards idea sounds better than anything I'd come up with, lol. I only bother getting presents for my closest friends, for the most part, and I usually go all out and splurge for them, too. Maybe gift cards (highly convenient)? Or a pretty journal? Scissors? LOL. I don't really know, sorry for not being of any help, but I wish you luck in figuring it out! :D

I remember for my seventh grade science project, I wrote a lab report about how different fertilizers affected plant growth.

Congratulations on cleaning your room as well. That reminds me... my room's a mess as well. My mom's been badgering me to clean it all week, so maybe I should...

we all abandon our blogs from time to time. :P

I was hoping the science experiment would involve baking soda and a volcano, hehe :D

what type of party.. birthday? I suck at picking out generic things. Urban Outfitters usually has cute things in the apartment and accessories section that most people like. Otherwise... wine!! :)
