September 16, 2007: "why then, oh why can't i?"
autumnal weather approaches us! this calls for an obligatory YAY, capitals and all. come to think of it, i mention the weather a lot in my blogs, but of all the things going on in both my life and the world, i think this is as important as it gets. so, it's 62°F right now with skies that are blue (and the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true). i went to the city over the weekend, where for a brief moment the skies were not so blue, and more like, cloudy and wet. it was okay though, i was able to duck into the subway station, because, you know, damp clothes are the worst things that could possibly happen, so avoid them at all costs.
before moving to san francisco, my sister has accumulated a pile of NYC metro cards from her company, which she left to me for happy subway use. i opened a new $35 one this weekend, and after about four swipes, i decided to check the balance (math can be difficult ...), except the machine told me i had $36 left.
???
yeah, so, that was my reaction, and it appears math is a tricky subject for it as well, but i wasn't going to fight with the machine.
mainly because that would be weird.
so, i guess as long as the math-impaired card keeps increasing my balance, i'll be seeing new york from the underground for awhile. yay (not obligatory, no capitals).

The weather has been pretty decent here too, but just for the time being. Iowa is the stupidest place for weather... we get super hot summers and super cold winters. :[

I love autumn! It's the perfect mix of 60% cold and 40% hot! I always look forward to that season. And I understand the comment about damp clothes, I was unlucky on Friday and managed to get drenched. I had sticky, wet, and cold clothes on until I managed to get home.
Hey, if your metro card says you have $36 then you are you to complain :P. It's cool that you can actually check the balance on your card; where I live you pay for a monthly card (so you can use it as much as you want for a hefty price per month).
You have fun using your special math-impaired metro card! Don't you wish they had math-impaired credit cards too? ;)

Lately it's been getting colder, here in Holland. Not sure what it's like where you live, but my boyfriend, who lives in England, has also been complaining about the cold weather. I guess autumn is really coming soon, I just wish summer would stay for a little longer.

Haha, yeah, it was cute with the rose, but the girl who got it felt awkward, lol. haha I have new contacts, I hope I can get some glasses by next week! =OO HAHA My umbrella IS magic. It's pink and sparkly and frilly. I love it. And the guys I bump into must feel weird holding it over us. xD Aww, what a cute interpretation. We're actually not getting married, that's what I meant by "we may not be", but now I see that "may" seems that I am not sure about it. Who knows, though; it's possible (at least, I'd like that =x). lol In the meantime, I'm excited with the idea that we could get an apartment! =D

I loathe the weather over here now.. Yesterday it rained like hell, and it even was a small whirlwind, or something, here. It ripped a few caravans apart, and that really scares me.. I don't think I've ever heard about such strong whirlwinds in my area. Well well..
